Arrest Made in Armed Robbery and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) Offenses in the Seventh District

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District have announced an arrest has been made in reference to Armed Robbery (Gun) offenses at the following locations:

 

  • Armed Robbery (Gun): On Sunday, July 15. 2018, in the 4200 block of 6th Street, Southeast, at approximately 12:31 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded property. The suspect took the victim’s property then fled the scene. CCN: 18-115-899
  • Armed Robbery (Gun) /Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun): On Wednesday, September 4, 2019, in the 1500 block of Tobias Drive, Southeast, at approximately 1:27 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect brandished a handgun and demanded US currency. The suspect took the victim’s property then fled the scene. When the victim returned to the listed location, the suspect fired a handgun and struck the victim. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. CCN: 19-156-887

 

On Wednesday, September 4, 2019, 21-year-old Raekwon Sutton, of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with two counts of Armed Robbery (Gun) and one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
